Agree adult involvement
A parent or guardian should understand how the child joins, who manages account access and how to remain involved appropriately. Choose a learning space where support is available. Ask whether observation is possible and how a parent should raise a concern without interrupting the child’s ability to participate.
Clarify communication and recordings
Confirm which accounts and channels are used for lesson arrangements. Ask how joining links are shared, whether recordings are proposed, what consent would be needed and who could access them. Do not assume a recording policy exists simply because the platform supports recording.
Know how to raise a concern
Before lessons start, ask for the actual reporting contact and escalation procedure. If a child feels uncomfortable, listen and pause the activity while the concern is addressed. This page provides discussion prompts, not a claim that a particular safeguarding programme or screening process has been independently verified.
